Coventry Youth For Christ

Over the next month, Christians from around our City are investing in prayer, 24-7 style.

As part of this initiative, the city centre prayer rooms are available to young people at certain times each week, being manned by trained and CRB checked team members.

It’s that time of year again when the CYFC team start getting excited about our summer youth camp. This year, along with the usual tonnes of fun, games, worship & craziness, we’re going to be exploring the beattitudes throughout the week.

Once again Youth camp is taking place in Oswestry from 23rd to 28th August at a cost of £110 per person (including all food, accomodation and trandsport costs).

There are still several places available, so if you know someone who would benefit from coming along, why not download & print out a flyer to give them.

We’re pleased to announce that the CYFC youth event ‘Junction7′ will be restarting from Sunday, 25th October. The slightly updated event, newly branded “J7 [up]lift[ed]“, will be happening on the 4th Sunday of every* month, taking place at our new J7 venue: Nexus, 71 Albany road, Coventry, running from 7.30pm until 9.15pm.

It is hoped that this event will work to complement current church youth ministries across the City and create an atmosphere where young people feel free to engage with God and be equipped to live out a radical Godly lifestyle in front of their peers at home & in school.

It would be great to see you there.

Youth Camp ‘09 has been and gone, and what an amazing time we had. It was awesome to see so many young people meeting with God through Spirit-filled worship and engaging in faith based activities and conversations, mixed with the obligatory games, ‘chillax’ time, and excellent food throughout the week.

We want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone that’s been involved in youth camp this year, whether on the admin & planning teams before the event or as part of the face-to-face team at camp.

Our annual showcase event is taking place on Monday 29th June 2009 @ Esquires coffee House in the Coventry Transport Museum.

With various groups of young people performing and a chance to hear about some of our past, present and future projects, this will be a great opportunity to meet the CYFC team and learn more of our heart for Coventry and its young people.

So why not come along, buy a coffee, and hear about some of our work.

After a very successful start to the new Junction7 youth event earlier this month, we’re all really excited about our second event on April 4th.

Over 50 young people attended Junction7 in March, and all feedback so far has been really positive with many young people eager to invite friends to the April event.

It’s official!!

We’re starting a brand new city-wide youth event, aimed at providing a safe place for young Christians to bring their friends and experience God in a non-threatening, fun environment.

Our hope is that Junction7 will be a great resource for churches and youth groups across the city, complementing current youth programmes and inspiring young people to live radical lives with God at the centre and discover new ways of talking to their friends about their faith.

The first Junction 7 is happening at Elim Pentecostal Church in Coventry on Saturday, March 7th, from 7-9pm.
